Hyve Bar & Café is the bar, café, and living room of Gundeli all in one room, with big windows, mismatched tables, the smell of something baking and enough seats for whoever shows up, whether that’s you and your laptop, you and your dog, or you and whoever you ran into on the way here.
In summer it’s Kitchen Brew on the terrace and in winter it’s fondue around the communal table, and somewhere in between there’s always a custom roast from Bean in Progress, something homemade behind the glass, and a seat waiting for you.

Hyve Bar & Café is part of Hyve Basel Hostel, in the Gundeli neighbourhood. You don’t need to be a hotel guest to come in. Walk in, sit down, order something.

BEAN IN PROGRESS
BASEL
Our coffee comes from Bean in Progress, a specialty roaster in Basel.
They roast a custom blend for Hyve Bar & Café. It’s the coffee we serve in the morning and the one that keeps people going through long days.

KITCHEN BREW
Allschwil
Kitchen Brew is our craft beer partner across Switzerland.
Brewed near Basel, their beers are balanced, easy to drink and well made. You’ll find their Blonde, IPA and Wheat Ale on our menu.
It’s the beer we pour the most.
Jumi Cheese
Emmental
Our cheese comes from Jumi in the Emmental region.
They work with milk from nearby farms and produce raw milk cheeses with real character. You’ll find it on our aperitivo plates and breakfast table.
Simple product done well.

Dream of Ice
Our ice cream comes from Dream of Ice, a small artisan maker based just outside Basel. Everything is made by hand with natural ingredients only. The kind of ice cream that tastes exactly like what it says on the label.
If your evening runs late, your capsule is next door.
Need somewhere to sleep as well?
If the evening runs longer than expected, there’s a room upstairs with your name on it. Comfortable and considerably more appealing than the last train or tram home.
